The Artists Association of Nantucket fosters and sustains the visual arts on Nantucket. Established in 1945, AAN continues to build on the success of its exhibitions, education program, and historic collection of art. AAN membership is central to the success of the organization and provides the vital support needed to inspire the Island’s dynamic visual arts community.

Artist Membership

  • We offer our Artist Members opportunities to engage in Nantucket’s vibrant arts community through year-round exhibitions, education classes, and special events. When you are juried into membership, you will enjoy representation and promotion at the Big Gallery, Cecelia Joyce & Seward Johnson Gallery, and in our online gallery, as well as a chance to participate in free demonstrations, pop ups, and Sidewalk Art Shows. Our artists also enjoy selling and client-building opportunities by submitting work to our AAN auctions, including Spring Sweep, Gala, and Wet Paint.

    • Answers to questions to determine your art-related teaching experience, art education, gallery affiliations, exhibitions and awards, associations, memberships, and community involvement

    • 5 pieces of artwork, 4 should be framed and ready to present in a professional gallery and a printed portfolio
