ART CLASSES EVENTS

Course Description

In this class students will learn basic animation techniques using a variety of media such as paper cut-outs, clay, and more! Students will get to watch their creations come to life with an assortment of materials they might find at home. This class focuses on fun, hands-on, and accessible animation projects to help inspire students to continue to create on their own, without the need for expensive equipment or programs. All that’s needed is a little patience and a lot of imagination!

Scholarships are available for Island youth, helping make a summer filled with creativity, exploration, and hands-on art experiences accessible to all. To request financial assistance, please email Elizabeth Buccino, Director of Education, at lizb@nantucketarts.org prior to registering online.

Due to our commitment to small class sizes and the hands-on nature of art education, we are greatly impacted by cancellations. Nevertheless, we do understand that plans change. If you need to cancel your reservation for a class or workshop, please note our cancellation/refund policy here and let us know as soon as possible.

Animation Fun, Ages 10-14

Nicci Aguiar

Nicci is a Nantucket native with a passion for creating whimsy nautical illustrations and paintings. She works primarily with traditional materials such as ink, watercolor, pencils, and markers, which she found love for during her college years. Nicci is inspired by the nature and people she grew up with on island which is why she often creates pieces with sea captains, fishermen, and many funny fish. When she’s not creating or teaching Nicci enjoys riding her bike, reading, and traveling. She attended Savannah College of Art and Design and received her BFA in Sequential Art in 2016. Since graduating she has worked on various projects such as graphic design, murals, illustration, and comic commissions. You can find her work at Sustainable Nantucket Framer’s and Artisans Market and at the Artists Association of Nantucket Galleries.
