Course Description

A variety of materials and techniques will be introduced and explored. Students will experiment with layering painted sheer fabric, dyed papers, teabag paper, organic materials including plants, and cutting, repurposing old or discarded paintings. The class will be guided to explore different ways to use paint as well as refining traditional methods. Play is encouraged! Some materials will be supplied, and students are encouraged to bring more things to add to the mix: fabric, papers, photos, leaves, flowers, crushed shells, and old paintings. Come with a composition, idea in mind, and a surface to work on, as well as paint that you like to use.
