At the Artists Association of Nantucket (AAN), we are committed to creating a welcoming, respectful, safe, and inspiring environment for all students, teaching artists, staff, volunteers, and visitors. Our programs are designed to foster creativity, collaboration, kindness, and mutual respect while providing a positive and supportive space for artistic exploration and learning.

To support this mission, we have established policies and standards that help ensure a positive experience for everyone participating in our programs and visiting our facilities.

Our policies are designed to support a productive educational experience and the responsible use of AAN facilities.

AAN reserves the right to remove any participant whose behavior negatively impacts the safety, well-being, or experience of others.

    CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY
AAN depends upon student tuition to continue to offer classes and workshops.

Due to our commitment to small class sizes and the hands-on nature of art education, we are greatly impacted by cancellations. Nevertheless, we do understand that plans change. If you need to cancel your reservation for a class or workshop, please review our refund policy and let us know as soon as possible.

    YOUTH PARTICIPATION IN ADULT PROGRAMMING
AAN recognizes that some teen artists may benefit from participation in select adult classes and workshops. Students ages 15–17 may be considered for enrollment in Adult (18+) programming through an approval process that includes parent or guardian consent and review by the Director of Education.
Eligibility is based on the student’s maturity, experience, and ability to participate successfully in an adult learning environment. Additional information regarding requirements can be found HERE.

    ACCESSIBILITY & ADA COMPLIANCE
The Artists Association of Nantucket is committed to providing equal access to its programs, services, and facilities in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). We welcome individuals of all abilities and strive to make our educational programs, exhibitions, events, and facilities accessible to the broadest possible audience. AAN will provide reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities whenever possible and appropriate. Individuals requesting accommodations are encouraged to contact AAN in advance of participation so that we may work together to identify and implement reasonable accommodations.

    Examples of accommodations may include:
  • Accessible classroom and event spaces
  • Program modifications where appropriate
  • Communication accommodations
  • Assistance with participation in classes, workshops, and events
