Personalize and repair your clothes using colorful fabric patches and hand stitching. We’ll cover how to cut and arrange patch fabrics to create a unique embellishment, or to cover damage like holes and stains. Then you’ll learn how to apply your patches to the garment of your choice using embroidery floss and simple hand embroidery stitches. Please bring a garment to class to embellish or repair. Ideal garments for patching include light- to medium-weight knits and wovens like tshirts, sweatshirts, button up shirts, skirts and dresses. Garments made of natural fibers like cotton, wool, and linen are best, but synthetics or blends work too. Activewear and clothing made of performance fabrics (like waterproof coats and spandex leggings) are not good candidates for this type of mending. Suitable for all experience levels.
Please bring articles of clothing or textiles you would like to repair. Additional materials will be provided.
