Maria Zodda

Maria Zodda

Maria Zodda’s dream of living and painting on Nantucket was realized recently. A new member of the association she has worked to finalize her style while taking classes with John Traynor and Elizabeth Condon. Both have inspired her to work plein air and focus on the beauty of around her be it the mountains of Maine or the shores of Nantucket she has called home for the past 20 years. Frequent trips to the MFA have helped her enjoy and learn from her favorite painters: John Singer Sargent and the Impressionists. The Cape Cod School and the works of Henry Hensche are also a style and method she hopes to follow. Capturing the light and it’s every changing influence on subject is a talent she hopes to achieve. When Camille Przewodek returns to Provincetown, Maria plans on taking her class to learn this unique method of painting light.
