I am a Boston-based artist specializing in Monotype and Mixed Media compositions. While working from my studios in Chestnut Hill and Nantucket Massachusetts, I explore the use of texture, color, and form through various printmaking techniques. With over 20 years of artistic practice, my work has been exhibited in New England and is held in several private collections.
As a monotype artist, I often draw inspiration from the ocean and the beach–their rhythms and ever changing moods influence the movement and tone in my work.
What I love most about printmaking is the way it challenges perception. When using a printing press, the image that comes off the press is a mirror image, reversed from the original. This pushes me to let go of my expectations. It allows me to observe the world and make it my own, giving me the freedom to move from realism to more abstract, intuitive expression.
