John McLeod received his BA at Millsaps College in Jackson, MI in 2001 and has developed his career as a professional painter and sculptor whose enigmatic artwork is collected worldwide. Strongly influenced Mesoamerican and Egyptian sculpture and imagery, John works with a wide range of materials and methods to create art that explores emotional experiences, communicates beliefs, and the arc that expresses the tenuous span from beauty and pain. His work has been featured in the Beautiful Bizarre and American Collectors magazines, and he is represented by Abend Gallery, in Denver, CO. John has come to the AAN as a fully funded Artist in Residence from Chattanooga, TN, with his wife Mia Bergeron.
