I started painting almost 40 years when I was involved with the San Francisco Art Institute. It was here that I was introduced to the concepts of “impacts and reactions” that painting can bring to a viewer and to a room. I mostly paint here on Nantucket and in Newport Beach, California.
I intend for my art to burst with an energy that invites viewers into a whimsical world of abstraction. With a dynamic interplay of colors—the pinks, reds, yellows, and grounding blues—it evokes a sense of joyful chaos. Thick brushstrokes and layered textures give the canvas a tactile, almost musical rhythm. I intend for the work to cause a reaction - bring a smile. I hope you like it.
