Hi, I’m Jessie—a Nantucket-based artist with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from the Savannah College of Art and Design. I divide my time between the studio and scooping ice cream at The Juice Bar.
Growing up on Nantucket continues to shape and inform my work. I paint landscapes and animals inspired by the island, primarily in oil. I often work from photographs I take around the island, using them as references to capture specific moments and light. I’m especially drawn to painting waves—whether it’s a foggy morning at Steps Beach or a bright, sunny day at Nobadeer. I also enjoy painting outdoors on site when I can.
My work focuses on capturing a sense of movement and atmosphere, with the goal of creating paintings that feel both dynamic and true to the experience of being there.
