Holly Harty

Holly Harty

Holly has been a passionate artist her whole life. As a child, she realized her love of drawing and painting, and her interest in art then grew and became refined in her years at Middlebury College as a fine arts major focusing on oil painting.

Holly’s art career began as a successful troupe l’oeil mural artist. Owning her own small business, she specialized in trompe l’oeil murals as well as painted finishes and painted furniture. Her work can be found in spectacular homes on Park Avenue in New York City, in Greenwich Connecticut, and on Nantucket Island. During her time as a mural artist, Holly participated in many interior designer showhouses, and her work was featured in many books and magazines.

Holly’s work currently focuses on large-scale oil on canvas landscape paintings, pastels and pottery. Holly works out of her studios on Nantucket Island, Vero Beach, Florida, and Stamford, Ct. Her artistic joy and talent are translated onto her large scale landscape paintings. This main body of her work features the moors, ponds, flowers, and backroads of Nantucket-her favorite island. In all her work, the importance of atmosphere, the seasons, color, and composition are evident. Her pieces evoke a feeling of longing and mystery.
