“My interest in teaching is to share my enthusiasm for the natural world and use my skills as a fine arts teacher to help others realize their artistic vision. My training was in Flemish painting, sculpture, watercolor, anatomy and other fine arts disciplines, and I have seen my own work evolve over the years, taking on a more abstract expression. This has enabled me to teach students based on their own means of expression, ranging from traditional techniques to more interpretive concepts. Traveling and studying different landscapes has always broadened my perceptions and informed my interpretations of the visual world. It is this experience, too, that I wish to share with my students.” G.S.
