In my youth I loved to draw, and had aspirations to become an architect, but my career took a different path. When I retired, I returned to drawing, and eventually studied under two very talented realist oil painters at Wayne Art Center in Wayne, PA. I’ve been painting in earnest since 2020, and became an artist member of AAN in 2025.
True to my early interest in drafting, most of my compositions are streetscapes, with focus on the structures that define a neighborhood. I look at each composition as a way to honor those places that hold special meaning for me, my family, and friends. I paint for the pleasure of it, and learn something new with every piece. As much as I enjoy making my own art, I’m also an avid fan of many Nantucket artists of differing styles, foremost among them John Lochtefeld (RIP), Meghan Weeks (@meghanweeksartist) and Geddes Jones (@geddesjones).
