Alan grew up in New York City. His lifelong interest in art, particularly modern art, began with his family’s frequent visits to the Museum of Modern Art. He took Saturday morning painting classes at the museum as an adolescent and later worked summers at his father’s commercial art studio. After a long career as a lawyer, he has returned to his true passion.
