Devaney studied at the Hartford Art School and Trinity College, and has followed with residencies at the MacDowell Colony and Yaddo. He is a member of the Cambridge Arts Council and a one time exhibitor at the (X) Gallery. He now shows his canvases, which invariably rely on elements of caricature, at the South Wharf Gallery and at the AAN. He has also appeared as an actor in many local theater productions.
