Until recently, Reid’s identity was a mystery. She may have visited Nantucket as early as 1900. By the 1920s, she was painting in the summer and exhibiting work in local stores.
A resident of Rochester, New York, Reid favored Siasconset as a locale for her nostalgic watercolors of a quaint island.
