Jack Eastman Brown 1922-2000
Graduate of the Kansas City Art Institute where he studied with many famous American artists including Thomas Hart Benton and Fletcher Martin. He moved to Nantucket after resigning as art director of Gray Advertising Agency in New York City.
Mr. Brown served as a water commissioner in Sconset, was a volunteer fireman and a past president of the Artists’ Association of Nantucket. His paintings have been on display in galleries in New York City, eastern Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia, Connecticut and most recently at the Wilson Gallery on Nantucket.
