Ellen Jacobi Selden lived and painted most of her life in Nantucket. She studied at L’Ecole des Beaux Arts in France and directed her own art school for over 25 years in New York where she also showed her work in many galleries. Her bronze sculptures were known for her ability to integrate grace and energy.
