Born in Cleveland, Ohio, this Dunedin, Florida artist moved to the Tampa Bay area in 2010. Many prior years were spent painting in Southern Massachusetts where she and her husband, (the former Thomas Joseph Petit, award winning photographer and teacher at the New England School of Photography and Northeastern University, Boston, Massachusetts),raised their 5 adopted children.
A graduate of Kent State University, Kent, Ohio, she earned her B.S.Ed. and M.Ed. degrees with majors in Painting and Art Education and independent studies in Art Therapy.
A large body of her work was inspired by a personal sabbatical on Nantucket Island in the late 1990’s. During that time, she worked with Nantucket artist William Welch and displayed her work in his gallery on Easy Street. Her work also displayed at the Westmoor Inn.
