Loosen up and stretch your creative muscles! The goal of this workshop is to explore a variety of mark making techniques with an emphasis on finding what works for you. Playfully experiment with drawing marks, painting spills, drips, drags, imprints (etc), and collage. The idea is to let go of control, get out of your own way and push your limits, allowing the materials to take the lead as you aim to develop a small series of artworks. With step by step guidance from Jackie, you will learn about design and composition as you begin editing and composing an abstract image through a process of construction, deconstruction and reconstruction. Slide show presentations of contemporary and historical artworks will be given to demonstrate how cutting, ripping, masking, glazing, and layering paint will add intrigue to your art.
All levels welcome.
