Illya Kagan

Illya Kagan paints "en plein air" throughout the seasons. Working directly from nature, Illya paints with a freshness and spontaneity that is evident in the saturated colors and bold brushstrokes that are the hallmark of his style. The lengthening shadows and luminous skies of the landscape are reflected in the rhythms of his strong and dynamic compositions. Illya's evocative paintings connect the viewer to a fleeting time and place. His canvases distill the beauty of the landscape. From rolling moors and sandy dunes, to snow covered mountains, and translucent tropical waters, Illya has completed numerous commissions for his patrons, across America, the Caribbean, and Europe. Illya Kagan lives on Nantucket.
