Course Description

In this class, we will work with visual journaling as a powerful way to record experiences and observations, both artistic and personal. Actively using a sketchbook encourages looking, brainstorming, new ideas, and directions for research, as we go about creating a collection of our own ideas and imaginings. Students will focus on creating their own personal sketchbook/journals to use as creative places to explore the artistic process and to establish a meaningful self-reflective practice. We will use a variety of mediums and experiment with diverse techniques for expression.

Sue Riddle

Sue Riddle believes creative expression to be an essential, inborn, human need. Though she often finds herself living like a hermit, (for many of us, art is a solitary pursuit), it is often in coming together with others, to make and do and share things, that the real magic happens. Sue holds a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design.
