Artists Association of Nantucket offers a wide variety of special events throughout the year from free outdoor art shows and live art auctions to elegant benefit dinners. Join us for our popular fund-raising events, including Spring Sweep, the Annual Benefit Art Auction & Gala, Wet Paint / Fresh Works.     The Artist Association of Nantucket will honor beloved Nantucket artist and teacher David Lazarus at the annual Summer Art Auction and Gala on July 7. The annual event will be held at the Great Harbor Yacht Club and celebrates the achievements of our dynamic artist community.

    This year’s chairs Anne Marie Bratton and William Bainbridge Steele invite you to join this special evening by purchasing Host Tables or Tickets now.     Wet Paint / Fresh Works features an exciting one-day event where the art is WET and FRESH! In the days leading up to the event, visitors and art lovers are invited to peer over the shoulders of AAN member artists as they fan across the island to complete their work. The just-finished art is then delivered to the Nantucket Yacht Club for a fun and lively sale. A benefit dinner follows the auction.

    Artists Association of Nantucket offers two outdoor art shows every summer. A beloved tradition dating back to 1930, the Sidewalk Art Show is the oldest of its kind in the U.S. and is a wonderful opportunity to meet twenty of Nantucket’s finest artists. The conversations will be memorable as you stroll past rows of fine art, under blue skies and a canopy of green in downtown Nantucket.

    Rain date for each show will be the Sunday of the same weekend

    this six-day painting festival is open to all artists who wish to paint in the fresh air and pristine scenery of the island. The Frank Swift Chase Awards will take place at the June 17 reception. The third annual Paint Out at Brant Point, with a full harbor view, is June 13 starting at 10 a.m. Over thirty artists have participated in prior years.

    In tribute to C. Robert Perrin, a longtime artist member, AAN hosts three Master Artist Demonstrations per season. The demonstrations are held in the same style that Perrin did his, with lots of friendly conversation while the artist is at work. The demonstrations include refreshments. New members are welcome to join the night of the demonstration.

    The Artists Association of Nantucket has a long history of collaborating with other local nonprofit organizations and businesses in the Nantucket community. Sharing resources is one of the best ways to bring the arts and culture to island residents. From children’s classes with Nantucket S.T.A.R. and art therapy classes with the Fairwinds Center to participating in the One Book One Island Week with the Nantucket Atheneum and many island nonprofits and businesses, AAN realizes the importance of working together to provide creative public programming.
