- About Us
The Permanent Collection is a significant collection of modern Nantucket art (Post-1920) and a legacy for the future. To keep it vital and relevant, it's imperative that we continue to seek donations of important Nantucket artworks. Below are the guidelines for making donations.
You may also consider making a donation to seed funds to keep the Permanent Collection both preserved and exhibited on a regular basis.
Thank you, Robert Frazier, Curator of Exhibitions.
Past artist members — We seek representative work of all of our past members. In addition, if a member of your family was a member, we seek historical information on them and photos of the artists and their art.
Key artists from the Art Colony era — We seek biographical material as well as representative artwork of the artists who were early members of the AAN. We especially seek works by Frank Swift Chase, Isabelle Hollister Tuttle, Emerson Tuttle, Elinor Barnard, Roy Bailey, Bobby Bushong, Julian Yates, Emily Leaman Hoffmeier, Ruth Haviland Sutton, Harriet Lord, Charlotte Stuart Kimball, Louise Emerson, Anne Ramsdell Congdon, and others.
Contemporary artists — We seek prime examples from artists working today, especially winners of our annual Artist / Patron Awards.
