Kimball, Charlotte Stuart

1889 - 1964 Member of the 45 Group. One of several Baltimore artists attracted to Nantucket, Kimball started frequenting the island in 1940. Her family nickname was "Ha". She was an original, founding member of the 45 Group as well as the AAN; a force in the modernist movement here. Kimball served on the AAN Executive Committee from 1951 to 1953. The painting "Woman In Yellow Chair" is a painting of her friend and painting peer, Louise Emerson.
