Thursday Wheelthrowing, Ages 10–14

Tracy Ann Daily

Tracy Ann Daily is a native New Yorker and has live on Nantucket Island as a “washashore” for the last seventeen years. After discovering her passion for working with clay over twenty five years ago, from the moment she sat at a potter’s wheel and experienced the therapeutic nature of the medium, she knew that working with clay would be an immense part of her life. She has a profound appreciation for the creative process and the tactile sense that the clay offers. She creates wheel-thrown and hand-built pieces and has even composed a jewelry collection using her hand crafted “Bare” beads. In 2016, Tracy Ann was accepted as an Artist Member of the Artists Association of Nantucket and began teaching children and adult classes in 2017. She was the 2020 recipient of the AAN’s, Liz Schaeffler Sculpture/3D Award for her unique work in combining her pottery forms with handwoven basketry. In 2021, she was awarded the Randy M. Goldberger Teaching Award for her continuous work in guiding children in the art of pottery making. Tracy Ann’s graceful work is presently displayed for purchase at numerous island shops, AAN’s gallery openings and local craft shows, as well as online.
