Step into the world of figurative art by working from a live model set in a different environment each week. The model will hold a two hour pose for students to investigate with the media of their choice, creating a series of sketches, focussing on a full portrait, or developing a single image of the weekly set up that is designed to evoke mood and sense of place through color, light, and form. Elizabeth will give instruction on foundational elements like portraiture, anatomy, perspective, and color, while helping you achieve your artistic goals using the human element to inspire your individual narrative. All levels are invited to bring their own drawing and painting supplies. Please see our “greener” practices to guide what you bring to class. All levels welcome.
