In this class students will work towards creating a realistic portrait using water mixable oil paints. The first two sessions will introduce the grid method as we work from a photograph mapping out the forms of a face utilizing shape and tone. From there, we will explore other image transfer and color matching techniques as we examine color theory building upon form. Painting terminology, portrait artist examples, brush care and use of mediums will also be covered in this course.
