Explore the elegant forms of Nature with a wide range of printmaking techniques ideally suited to capture organic designs, silhouettes, and patterns. Leyah leads students on a journey that starts with the exciting spontaneity of pressing objects into gelli-plates to create “one off” monoprints, and then moves into the more deliberate art of creating series of prints using carving lino block, drawing “drypoint” on plexi plates, and stenciling silkscreens. Whether you are interested in its application for craft or fine art, botanical printmaking can serve as a fundamental lesson in design and an endless source of inspiration for developing individual style. Basic knowledge of drawing is preferable but not essential. ALL LEVELS WELCOME.
