Tuttle, Henry Emerson
Emerson Tuttle was renowned for his etchings of birds and was Curator of Prints at the Yale University Art Gallery in the ‘30’s and early ‘40’s, as well as a member of the Brooklyn Society of Etchers. First president of the AAN (he died before serving out his year), he and his wife Isabelle Hollister Tuttle were powerful voices in the formation of the association. Isabelle often recalled her husband sitting in a blind for days sketching birds for his prints.
