Perrin, C. Robert

A graduate of the Art Institute of Boston, Perrin first painted here in 1946 and joined the AAN in 1952. His painting studio on Old South Wharf evolved into the first active gallery on the wharf in 1956, and by 1966 he had moved permanently to Washington Street where he held Wednesday evening watercolor demonstrations. He also belonged to the American Watercolor Society and the Rockport Artists Associa tion. Blessed with an inventive nature, Perrin also illustrated posters, wrote childrens’ books, and experimented in other media. He once converted a VW bus on island into an “en plein air” studio on wheels.
