Considered by her peers to be a painter’s painter, Lord was one of the Frank Swift Chase students who worked out of the Red Anchor Studio on Washington Street and showed in Florence Lang’s Easy Street Gallery. "Hattie" Lord sat on the first executive board of the AAN. She was an early student of Edmund Tarbell.
