Focus on Abstraction: Drawing, Painting and Collage with Lenny Moskowitz
- This workshop is open-ended, a whole world of possibilities. We will be sourcing abstraction by simplifying from natural forms and delving into your personal interior landscape. Demonstrations will cover idea collecting, collage technique, simplified drawing, and mixed media painting. We will view the works of other artists and discuss concepts such as space, composition, simplification, the viewing window, and working on automatic pilot. These approaches combine to establish a point of departure, unto which self-expression and creativity present endless possibilities.

Making Waves - Seascape Pastel Workshop with Jeanne Smith
- Painting water with a dry medium is paradoxically simpler than it looks. In this workshop, you'll learn how to create the illusion of crashing waves or still waters in pastel. Go beyond the flat blues of photographs and enliven your seascapes with the colors in your memory. We'll start with simple, abstracted under paintings to build a strong foundation. Learn to crop photos for effective compositions, look at waters reflective qualities and explore how light, motion and what lies beneath all affect what we see, and what we paint. We'll explore special techniques that make water shimmer, flow and crash in pastel.

Mixed Media with Aylin Green
- Back this year by popular demand, Aylin Green will teach her techniques for creating images while incorporating them into a unique, layered composition. The class will explore using paper, fabrics, transfers, wax, and found objects to create their mixed-media masterpieces!
  As an artist, educator, and museum administrator, Aylin Greens own artwork focuses on mixed media techniques and transforming old materials into paintings and sculpture.

Pigment Printmaking with Leigh McCarthy: In Search of the Miraculous
- Leigh will begin the workshop with a visit to the Nantucket Shipwreck and Lifesaving Museum in order for you to draw upon the island's rich maritime history. The second half of the workshop will be spent working on completing drawings and watercolors inspired by Nantucket's high sea adventures.
