Bushong, Polly

An accomplished portrait photographer from Worcester, Bushong joined the AAN in 1952. She moved to the island in 1955. Bushong was self- taught, using a sophisticated folk-art approach. Along with her brother Bobby, she helped craft the social circuit of artists that dominated the 60’s on island. Bobby was famous for his outrageous sense of humor; Polly was known for attending parties dressed as a mysterious character, Cora Pratt, in outlandish wigs and buck teeth.
