Welcome to the AAN schedule of classes & workshops for Adults & Teens, age 15 and up. Below is a full listing of the classes & workshops offered this winter and spring. If you wish to sign up now, please go directly to "Register for Classes". There you can search by program, dates, and class details. Once you've identified a class you wish to attend, simply locate it in our shopping cart, indicate the dates you desire, and register online. WINTER & SPRING PROGRAM


MONDAYS

NEW - DROP-IN PAINING OPEN STUDIO - Volunteer Monitor: Stacy Fusaro
Mondays, 6:30-9:00 p.m. January 23-March 12.
Create, converse, critique and find some camaraderie in the cold winter months.
This drop-in evening class is open to artist members and advanced painters, as well as current beginner & intermediate AAN drawing & painting students needing extra time to work from their class still life.
NON-MEMBERS-Drop-In Fee: $20 per night. MEMBERS-FREE! Donations at the door are welcome.
If you'd like, bring a food item or beverage to share (optional).


INDEPENDENT WHEELTHROWING & HANDBUILDING - Monitored by Lori Garrabrant & Ethan Griffin
Mondays, 6:30-9:00 p.m.February 27-April 9.
Studio Fee: $175. Materials: $50 (includes 25 lbs. of clay, glazes & firings).
There is no instruction provided, experience with clay handbuilding is required. If you have not taken a clay class with the AAN before, you will need to meet with Lori Garrabrant, the ceramics studio manager, prior to enrolling in this class. Please contact her via email at aan-lori@hotmail.com.


TUESDAYS

DRAWING INTO PAINTING with Rob Head
Tuesdays, 6:00-8:00 p.m. March 12-May 15, no class on April 17.
Tuition: $285. Materials: $20.
A beginner to intermediate oil painting and drawing class. Learn to develop your personal voice and work out ideas with a variety of painterly drawing techniques that you turn into full color oil paintings. Each oil painting project will begin with a different drawing strategy that focusses on developing and expanding creative opportunities for the painting process.


WEDNESDAYS

NEW - EVENING WORKSHOP SERIES: Painting with Celebrated AAN Artists
Wednesdays, 6:30-9:00 p.m. Tuition: $95, materials not included.
Re-emphasizing AANs mission of artists helping each other by sharing techniques and ideas, this exciting series of workshops fosters our artists colony. Join these skilled artists and share in the best art enrichment on the island.

WORKSHOPS

Lost Wax Jewelry Workshop with Sharon Woods Hussey
Saturday, February 18, 1:00-5:00 p.m.
Tuition: $63 members; $70 non-members
Materials Fee: $10 to start. Castings will be paid for later directly to Sharon.
Due to popular demand Sharon is back teaching her beginner lost-wax carving workshop. This exciting workshop will focus on a ring or pendant design. Students will complete one wax design that will be brought to a-ready-to-cast state. Students' wax models will be sent to a caster off-island.
The end product is a silver casting of the wax that has had the sprue removed and tumble polished. Each student is responsible for the additional cost of the casting fee; $10 plus the cost of the silver in the finished product that is dependent on the size of the jewelry you make.

Pysanky: Ukrainian Egg Decorating Workshop with Betsy Tyler
Wednesdays, 6:30-9:00 p.m. March 28 & April 4.
Tuition: members $85.50, non-members $95. Materials included.
This workshop is open to Teens, ages 14+ and adults.
Join us for the NEW two-week Pysanky Workshop! This workshop is open to adults, as well as teens age 14 and up.
Pysanky is the ancient Ukrainian custom of dyeing Easter eggs with sophisticated decorations using a wax-resist method.
Materials are included in the cost of the workshop. Each student will receive one Pysanky starter kit to take home with them so they can keep making these gorgeous works of art!
