Art Classes and Workshops
The Artists Association's Arts Program offers year-round educational programs for adults and children. Our spacious workshop on Gardner Perry Lane hosts a wide variety of classes and workshops in many media including oil painting, watercolor, pastel, life drawing, ceramics, woodcarving, printmaking, textile art and mixed media.
Our instructors are resident artists, AAN artist members and a variety of visiting artists who work in a range of mediums and bring a wealth of talent and experience to the program. Classes are designed for all levels of experience, from the novice to advanced student and for all ages from three to ninety-three.
The AAN also supports a Mentorship Program with Nantucket High School students. Working with their teachers, the AAN connects students with AAN artist members for intensive one-on-one teaching and critique opportunities. The program has evolved to become a treasured experience for both the students and the teachers. Over the course of a semester or year, the students and artists build relationship, friendships, and experiences in art education and professional mentorship.
In addition, the Arts Program sponsors films, lectures, and slide presentations by visiting and resident artists, art historians, arts critics, and collectors. Please take a look at our current class schedule and join us at the workshop!
